WordPress Development & Support
A small, senior team that builds, migrates, and supports WordPress sites for organizations across the U.S.
We build WordPress sites the same way we build everything else: custom themes from original designs, plugins written when they are genuinely needed, and no purchased template to work around. From new builds and migrations to ongoing support, you'll work directly with the developers writing your code. We're based in Denver and work with clients nationwide.
WordPress work we do
We build custom themes cut from original designs, plugins written only where something genuinely needs them, and no purchased theme to work around for the next five years. Everything we build for you, both code and design, is yours. You paid for it, you own it.
Much of the WordPress work we take over is a site that became hard to maintain: plugin sprawl, and a theme nobody can safely update. We build so your team can run the site day to day and a developer can still change it safely later.
Development & Theming
New WordPress sites built around your content and the way your team actually works, custom themes cut from original designs, and custom plugins when your site needs to do something no off-the-shelf plugin covers.

Maintenance & Support
Launch is the start of a WordPress site's life, not the end of it. Core, theme, and plugin updates, security advisories, and performance work all keep arriving, and they need someone paying attention. We offer retainer and as-needed plans, and we support sites whether or not we built them. Every plan includes dedicated hours beyond the update work, so you can spend them on whatever matters most that month.
- WordPress core, theme and plugin updates
- Security monitoring and patching
- Performance tuning and Core Web Vitals
- Automated backups and tested recovery
- Bug fixes and technical support
- Accessibility audits and WCAG remediation
- Feature development and enhancements

Why organizations choose WordPress
WordPress is not the right answer for every project, and we will say so when it is not. For teams who want a familiar editing experience, a quick path to launch, and room to extend later, it is often the most practical choice.
Easy for your team to run
The editing experience is familiar to almost anyone who has updated a website before, so day-to-day content work does not need a developer or a long onboarding.
Open source, no license fees
There is no per-seat or per-site cost for the platform itself, so budget goes into building what your organization actually needs rather than into licensing.
A large plugin ecosystem
Common requirements such as forms, commerce, memberships, and SEO already have mature solutions, which keeps budget focused on the parts of your site that are genuinely custom.
Quick to launch, easy to extend
A straightforward site can go live quickly and grow later through custom themes and plugins, so you are not rebuilding from scratch when requirements change.
WordPress questions we get asked
Do you build custom WordPress themes and plugins?
Yes. We build custom themes and plugins rather than purchasing configured templates. We avoid paid plugins as much as possible to help save you money.
Do you use page builders, or custom-built themes?
We build with custom themes, and can provide an editing experience either with Advanced Custom Fields or a drag-and-drop page builder. We'll review with your team ahead of time what is the best approach while keeping licensed plugins to a minimum. On both City Light & Power sites, ACF is the only paid plugin, so there are minimal renewal fees to carry and no feature that depends on a vendor continuing to maintain it.
Can you migrate a site into WordPress from Drupal or another platform?
Yes, and we have run migrations like this many times. We move sites into WordPress from Drupal, from other content management systems, and from older hand-built sites, carrying over content, media, and URL structure so existing search rankings and inbound links hold. The most recent example we can point you to publicly is City Light & Power and its sister company CLP Engineering, where we migrated two Drupal sites into WordPress.
Do you support WordPress sites you did not build?
Yes. We review the existing theme, plugins, and hosting first, then take over maintenance without insisting on a rebuild.
What does WordPress maintenance and support include?
Core, theme, and plugin updates, security monitoring and patching, performance tuning, automated backups with tested recovery, bug fixes, accessibility remediation, and ongoing feature development. Plans also include dedicated hours you can spend however you choose.
Should we use WordPress, Drupal or something else?
It depends on the work, and we build in all three. WordPress suits teams who want a familiar editing experience and a quick path to launch. Drupal suits sites with intricate content relationships, granular permissions, or heavy custom functionality. When neither is the right shape, we build on modern headless frameworks such as Astro and Payload, which produce fast, cleanly structured sites that search engines and AI tools can read easily. This site runs on Astro. We will tell you honestly which of the three fits your project.
Do you work with organizations outside Colorado?
Yes. Our whole team works from the Denver area, and we work with clients across the United States in higher education, healthcare, government, and the nonprofit sector.
Who owns the code and designs you build?
You do. Clients get full access to every piece of code and every design asset we produce. You paid for it, you own it.
How do you work with our team?
However suits you. We work in whatever your team already uses, whether that is Slack, Teams, email, or a project tool like Monday, Wrike, Teamwork or Asana. For some clients we are effectively the web team: their editors and staff come to us directly with requests rather than routing everything through one point of contact, and we take in, prioritize and run that work ourselves. For others a single contact is simpler. Either way the developer doing your work is the one managing it, so there is no account layer between you and the person writing your code, and none to pay for. We fit how you already work rather than asking you to adopt our process.
